Image Sensor Panel (ISPTM)
Bidirectional Display Inc. designs and develops Image Sensor Panel (ISP) that presents a significant technology breakthrough which drives innovation in the mobile workplace, the e-commerce business model and the Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructure.
Our ISP creates a super-thin, super-portable 2D image scanner that enables professionals to scan documents anytime, anywhere. Our image sensor panel also enables the display screen of every smartphone, tablet, and laptop with the ability to “see” things, including temperature.
Our ISP is made of a glass or plastic substrate, on which an array of thin film transistors (TFTs) and an array of photosensitive pixels (e.g., photodiodes) are deposited.

ISP on Backlight - Super Portable Image Scanner (SPISTM)
|
Our ISP can be placed directly on a backlight module that creates a planar light source. Photosensitive pixels of the ISP are separated to leave transparent space between the photosensitive pixels. Light emitted from the planar light source is transmitted through the ISP and reflected from a document placed on the ISP. In response, the ISP obtains an image of the document by capturing the reflected light.

ISPTM on Display - Bidirectional Display
|
Our ISP can be placed directly on a display module with an array of display pixels. Photosensitive pixels of the ISP are arranged to align with the black matrix of the display module. Light emitted from the display pixels can be transmitted through the ISP and reflected from a document placed on the ISP. In response, the ISP obtains an image of the document by capturing the reflected light. The display module is either a TFT-LCD or an AMOLED module.
